MACON – North Central Health District’s (NCHD) Health Equity program is partnering with the Chester Community Food Bank to provide free COVID-19 vaccines at the Food Distribution and Resource Fair on Friday, May 27. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Development Authority parking lot on 1011 U.S. Hwy 341 in Roberta.

“We’re excited to be partnering with resource providers across our district to offer vaccination opportunities at events within the communities we serve,” said Alicia Wright, NCHD Health Equity Program Coordinator. “We want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to receive their COVID-19 vaccination and the protection that comes with choosing to be vaccinated.”

Providers at the event include Chester Community Food Bank, Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, NCHD Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE). This event will offer groceries, community resources, COVID-19 vaccination and more to all who attend. NCHD and CORE will offer Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.

In addition to protection by vaccination, visitors at the event that are receiving their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will also receive at $100 Visa gift card from NCHD, while supplies last. To be eligible for the gift card, you must be 18 years old or older and be a resident of, or employed in, any of NCHD’s 13 counties receiving a first or second dose. You must show proof of residency or employment within the district to qualify for the gift card. You can receive a booster dose at the event, but you will not receive a gift card. Anyone below age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive vaccination.
