Jones County Health Department Hosting Open House

Visit the Health Department and Tour the Newly Renovated Facility

Jones County Health Department invites community members to visit the renovated facility Jan. 31, 1-5 p.m., at 114 Forest St. in Gray. During the open house, health department staff will give attendees a tour of the updated building and provide COVID-19 and flu vaccines for those who qualify. The health department will also offer snacks, giveaways and health education.

“We’re very proud of the improvements to our health department,” said Jones County Nurse Manager Sherry Bryant. “Together, each improvement gives our clients the best experiences possible. We’ve added new spaces, made client areas much more comfortable and improved the exterior to better facilitate drive through events.”

Renovations to the health department started in February 2023 with the final improvement completed in October. Prior to the upgrades, the building covered approximately 6,300 square feet. After the updates, Jones County Health Department’s completed building covers 8,150 square feet. The updates to the building include:

• an expanded reception area
• enlarged WIC program rooms
• a new infections disease treatment room
• an improved lab area
• redesigned exam rooms
• a drive through canopy
• telemedicine space
• an enhanced Environmental Health space with a separate lab area
• a large training and conference room

Together, these improvements to the health department create a modern medical facility to serve the current and future heath care needs of Jones County.
