Health Department Hosting Back to School Event August 5
Twiggs County Health Department invites students and their families to attend this year’s back to school event Aug. 5, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. at the health department at 26 Main Street in Jeffersonville. During the event, children will have the opportunity to receive giveaways, snacks, school-required immunizations, health screenings and other health services as needed.
“We want each child to be prepared for school from the first day to the end of the school year,” said Twiggs County Health Department nurse Rhonda Howell. “They’ll be ready for class and protected from illnesses through the year thanks to their immunizations.”
Families attending the back to school event will be able to get their children up-to-date on immunizations required by Georgia law. Health department staff will determine which vaccines are needed based on age and/or grade level and the child’s immunization record. For a list of required student vaccines, visit NCHD52.org/Students, or contact the health department at 478-945-3351 for more information.
