Regional Healthcare Coalitions
Preparation Through Partnership
When a disaster hits a community or a region, the entire healthcare system will be impacted and will have to respond. All healthcare organizations, from the largest hospital to a small community health center, will need to work together in a coordinated fashion to effectively respond to the disaster and work towards recovery. Planning together saves lives!
During all healthcare emergencies, decisions made by one healthcare organization will impact others. Healthcare organizations planning together will create a more prepared and resilient healthcare system.
Recognizing that hospitals alone are not sufficient to take care of the health care needs after a disaster, the Regional Healthcare Coalitions were established in August 2012 to include all healthcare organizations including but not limited to:
- Hospitals
- Community Health Centers
- Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC)
- Emergency Management Agency (EMA)
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Nursing Homes
- Hospice
- Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES)
- Public Health
- Home Health
- Mental/Behavioral Health Providers
- Dialysis Centers
- Assisted Living Facilities
- Personal Care Homes
- Law Enforcement/Fire

Join a Healthcare Coalition
As a member organization, your agency will:
- Build relationships with other healthcare organizations and emergency management
- Learn about available resources in the Region
- Collaborate with partners in the planning process to address regional preparedness gaps
- Gain access to education, training, exercises and grant funding
By planning collaboratively, all members of the coalition will be strengthened and will be better prepared. Your organization will learn from the experiences of others. By participating in the coalition, your organization may be able to meet some of your requirements related to emergency plans and exercises.
All healthcare organizations in Region F are invited to join the coalition. Membership is available at no cost to you. Members attend quarterly Coalition meetings, participate in planning, training and exercises, and agree to work with and support other members during disaster response and recovery. You can join the Coalition by contacting us or attending a meeting.
