North Central Health District Labor Day Holiday COVID-19 Testing, Vaccination & Closures

North Central Health District’s (NCHD) 13 county health departments will be closed for the Labor Day holiday Monday, Sept. 6.

Regular clinical services, environmental health services, WIC services and administrative services will be closed until the Tuesday, Sept. 7.

COVID-19 testing and vaccination will be available on the holiday at the Baldwin County Health Department, 100 Ireland Dr., Milledgeville.

  • COVID-19 testing will be available by appointment from 8 a.m. to noon. Appointments must be scheduled through the Mako Medical portal. Testing will be conducted at the back of the health department for those who have appointments.
  • COVID-19 vaccination will be offered 9 a.m. to noon as a walk-in service. Anyone visiting for vaccination will be required to wear a mask and enter the health department at the front door.

All county health department and district services will return to regular operating hours Tuesday, Sept. 7.  

NCHD encourages everyone to keep COVID-19 prevention in mind during the Labor Day holiday. Cases of COVID-19 are increasing across Central Georgia, so take action to reduce your risk:

  • Get vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water a not available, us an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill.
  • Keep at lease 6 feet between yourself and others in public spaces.
  • Avoid crowds.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue, then dispose of the tissue. If a tissue is not available, use the inside of your elbow to cover yourself.
  • Regularly clean and disinfect high-touch objects and surfaces.
  • Wear face coverings in places where maintaining a six-foot distance from others is difficult or impossible.
