SHARE

North Central Health District’s (NCHD) COVID-19 testing call line and specimen points of collection (SPOC) will have limited operations during the Labor Day holiday Monday, Sept. 7.

On Sept. 7, NCHD will have one SPOC open in Putnam County from 8 a.m. to noon. Anyone in need of COVID-19 testing must call our testing line at 1-844-987-0099 to schedule an appointment.

In addition to the change in regular testing operations, the NCHD COVID-19 testing line will be open for calls 8 a.m. to noon.

The regular SPOC and testing call line schedule will resume Tuesday, Sept. 8

NCHD encourages everyone to keep COVID-19 prevention in mind during the Labor Day holiday. While there is not yet any vaccine to protect against COVID-19 transmission, you can take action to reduce your risk:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water a not available, us an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill.
  • Keep at lease 6 feet between yourself and others in public spaces.
  • Avoid crowds.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue, then dispose of the tissue. If a tissue is not available, use the inside of your elbow to cover yourself.
  • Regularly clean and disinfect high-touch objects and surfaces.
  • Wear cloth face coverings in places where maintaining a six-foot distance from others is difficult or impossible.
