Children’s Medical Services Connects Children to Equipment and Therapy

North Central Health District’s (NCHD) Children’s Medical Services will host its second Equipment and Therapy Connection Fair for children with special needs Saturday, April 13, 1-3 p.m. at the Elaine Lucas Senior Center in Macon. This free event will connect children with special needs and their families to a variety of local medical equipment vendors, service providers and therapists that can help with growth and development. In addition to education and resource information, attendees will enjoy refreshments, giveaways and door prizes.

“We’re excited to be able to bring this event to our community for a second year,” said Teresa Sullivan, Children’s Medical Coordinator with NCHD. “Our number one goal is to give parents the chance to meet their children’s medical needs. The Connection Fair is a great opportunity for families to speak with us and our community partners and discover resources in their community.”

An assortment of exhibitors will attend the event to provide information and answer any questions about the services they provide. Representatives from medical and therapeutic services, medical equipment companies and other programs will be present. Exhibitors include:

  • Children’s Medical Services
  • Babies Can’t Wait
  • Disability Connections
  • Sai Rehab, Inc.
  • Middle Georgia Family Rehab
  • The Speech Path
  • Communication Dynamics
  • SenseAbilities
  • Hyde Mobility
  • Numotion
  • And more!

“We had a great turnout at last year’s fair,” said Sullivan. “We were able to provide education to a good group of families. We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces at this year’s event and meeting families that can take advantage of all the great resources we’ve gathered.”

The Equipment and Therapy Connection Fair will take place at the Elaine Lucas Senior Center in Central City Park, 132 Willie Smokie Glover Dr., Macon, GA 31201. This event, scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 1-3 p.m., is free and open to the public. Those who plan to attend the event are encouraged to register by calling 478-751-6253 or toll-free at 1-888-384-3267, but registration is not required.
