Children 1st handles all North Central Health District child health referrals to identify children with development, medical, or socio-environmental conditions that place them at risk for poor health or developmental outcomes. Thus, Children 1st is considered the “single point of entry” to connect with other district child health programs. Infants, children and families are assessed and referred to appropriate programs or services. Children 1st conducts developmental screenings and family assessments for infants and children up to their fifth birthday.
