donnaThe Jules S. Terry Memorial Award was established to recognize an individual wose work, no matter the position or discipline, has contributed to broaden the provision of health services to individuals.  Donna Cadwell is a 27-year public health veteran who has dedicated her entire career to the betterment of her employees and to furthering public health mission’s in her own community and across the state of Georgia.  She is a true Environmental Health/Public Health warrior who works tirelessly in the background; does not expect recognition for her efforts; and has the ideas and energy that not only drive her section but also a large part of the North Central Health District where she serves as Environmental Health County Manager. She is well respected and has a tremendous base of knowledge that she willingly shares with the staff and the community.

rolandThe Larry W. Miller Health Information Specialist of the Year Award is presented to a member of the Information Technology Section of GPHA.  The award was established to recognize individuals for their professional contributions to managing, analyzing, producing and communicating health information.  With  more than 28 years of Public Health experience, Roland Brown has worked with many programs in public health. His particular areas of expertise are in Cisco, Microsoft and Novell networks.  He is currently pursuing a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.  Roland led the conversion to Mitchell & McCormick for both the district office as well as 13 county health departments.  During this same time, he was instrumental during the district office relocation.  Also during the same fiscal year, he implemented the new telehealth network throughout the district.  All of these projects required careful planning and implementation.  Because of his vast experiences in Public Health, he is invaluable and appreciated immensely. His extraordinary leadership throughout recent changes has benefited us, our counties, and the state Public Health systems.

Congratulations to both Donna and Roland for your contributions to public health in Middle Georgia!
